The twelfth edition of Design Miami/Basel ended with a remarkable increase in the audience and a record for sales, confirming the value of the fair as a meeting place among the most important collectors of modern and contemporary design.
The numbers speak for themselves: more than 28,800 visitors and 47 leading design galleries from all over the world including 6 first-time galleries and 12 of the 17 founding galleries.
This edition has thus confirmed that the global collection design market is ever stronger and ever growing. Each participant gallery, thanks to its high-value objects and contemporary pieces inspired by the increasingly innovative and forefront technologies, has allowed the show to offer a refreshing and engaging experience.

The material observed during Design Miami/Basel has been spaced out among twentieth-century design objects and works from less well-known designers and architects, emphasizing the role of the fair as the most important forum to reach the most sophisticated collectors in circulation.
New to this edition was also to entrust the screening of the large-scale entryway exhibition to the American fashion designer, Thom Browne. It was the first time a designer from the fashion world was invited to curate this installation.
The lead of the exhibition was to pay homage to the hard work behind every single design object, in an increasingly evolving and transforming environment where the key word is reinterpretation. That's why he decided to face the changes that followed a design element, in this case a desk, to observe its evolution over time, from the beginning of modern design to the present.
