Phuket, Thailand: that’s where in 2009 Tierra Design studio completed a quiet luxury villa on a 3,200 square meters area between the Andaman Sea and the hillside. Founded in 1992 and operating mainly between Asia and Australia, the studio is specialized in designing nature-compatible solutions, to emphasize the environment they’re in, as well as the local traditions. A sensitive work that respects both landscape and culture, as proved by this project located just outside the heart of Phuket.
Villa Mayavee is a luxury property lying on a wavy land, within a quiet area surrounded by nature, creating a pleasant continuum between the house and the environment, obtained by employing natural materials such as teak wood, as well as glass walls to link the interior and the exterior. The villa faces both the hills and the ocean thanks to the transparent walls that create a bright space enhanced by an exterior floor-pool enriched by an immaculate solarium

The design is consistent with the classic style of the local properties characterized by a strong continuity between each room of their interior. This feature recurs in this villa too, thanks to the employment of glass as well as the spiral staircase boxed in a modern case to suggest the contemporary vision of the architects. The decoration is neat, with no heavy details overwhelming the all-white space where every room  looks toward the sea.
