Renaissance, Baroque, modernity: these are the characterizing styles of Barcelona’s Gothic district where nine apartments have been renovated in a revolutionary way, thanks to a project that combined Spanish traditions and modern design. The work was by the multicultural duo formed by Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue from EMBT studio. Spanish taste and Italian style merged together to emphasize the original side of these houses like wood beams, ceramic flooring and frescoes, to preserve the identity of the building, further enhanced by a new modern touch.

A new space division has been created to allow future tenants to be comfortable and enjoy a technological apartment, as well as a convivial place to hang out with the neighbors on the common terrace overlooking the city. Nine quality examples of the perfect balance between modernity and Catalan tradition, with a also specific keyword:“low budget”.
