Since 2011, Dutch Mountain House has been occupying the Dutch hillside by being literally part of it, thanks to an interesting project by Denieuwegeneratie Architecture. The sustainable property is not located on the ground but within it, with a façade hidden by an artificial hill. The project was aimed at respecting the environment also in terms of pollution, that’s why the studio collaborated with Arup Amsterdam for the home automation, with controlled photovoltaic system, LED lights, pellet wood heating system and a water recycling circuit.

A true example of a green house with also a quality interior. The façade facing the exterior is basically entirely made of glass walls to bring the sunlight in. Rough walls and floors are matched with dark wood furniture and innovative details such as a Jaguar car turned into a bookcase, lying vertically against the wall. There are also skateboards employed as stair steps and garbage bin as table legs. Originality takes over to emphasize the artistic side of the property which combines creativity and sustainability, and can literally disappear within the environment, especially when the snow falls down.
