The sixth edition of Design Tokyo will start off on Wednesday 8 July, to once again turn Japan’s capital into the stage for the very best of design. The design items on display will be selected by a designer and stylist commission specifically designated to guarantee an incomparable event in terms of quality and innovation. Hosted at Tokyo Big Sight and organized by Reed Exhibitions Japan Ltd, the upcoming edition of Design Tokyo will be featured in fact by a unique jury of four national and international names: Kazuo Kawasaki Ph.D., Design Director and Professor Emeritus at Osaka University and Nagoya City University; Fumio Takashima, president and CEO at BALS Corporation – the leading furniture Japanese importer 1990; interior stylist Tomomi Nagayama and Luke T. Baker, curator at MoMA.

Such four judges will select the astonishing products that will be on display for 3 days in a row (until July 10th) to amaze design professionals and lovers: with such premises, this year’s edition will surely replicate the 2014 success, when over 76.000 visitors attended the Fair, with an average of 25.000 per day. This year the public will also have the chance to discover two brand new areas of the fair: on the one hand JAPAN NOW!, dedicated to the most characteristic Japanese objects; on the other, the Interior Products Zone, where to appreciate any side of interior decoration and accessories. Moreover, seven concurrent fairs will be on at the same time, to further explore the world of furniture and living: from kitchen decoration with the fourth edition of Kitchen Ware Expo, to the most extravagant gift ideas with GiftEx 2015.
Thanks to its wide varied offer, Design Tokyo is ready to confirm to be the top event of the summer.
