Design and cinema mix together in Milan’s Via della Spiga on the occasion of the Fuorisalone 2014, featuring over 30 light installations called “Alberi di Luce” (Tree of Light), by Tomaso Schiaffino, art director of Bellaria Design. A week-long event to celebrate Milan’s Salone del Mobile Fair but also an homage to the Oscar awarded Italian movie “The Great Beauty” directed by Paolo Sorrentino, which employed the same type of lighting.

A urban movie-like setting with a crucial feature: sustainability.  “Alberi di Luce” installations are aimed at promoting Milan’s beauty as well as Italian quality and art, to frame and enrich the most famous shopping area that accounts for the 40% of the total purchases in the city. Curated by Beatrice Mosca, sponsored by Comune di Milano and promoted by Associazione Amici di Via della Spiga, the event emphasized the importance of Milan’s Via della Spiga as a landmark of economy, culture, design and cinema. The preview of Tree of Light – La Grande Bellezza nel quadrilatero di Milano took place at the Carlton Hotel Baglioni, to anticipate “Expo mette le radici in città”, the event that will involve many LED-light trees scattered all over the city from now til May 1st 2015, waiting for the Expo.
