One of the best features of a quality design product is the chance to get an actual custom piece, which usually involves only high-end expensive products. But what if we could change the shape of a design item by ourselves, to make it meet our needs? Cooledge SQUARE, the latest creation by Canada’s Cooledge Lighting, makes it happen. This revolutionary product was presented at L.E.D. – Lighting Experience Design project, promoted by Assodel and LedLab with TID, which was take place within Milan’s Ventura Lambrate district on the occasion of the design week’s Fuorisalone. Aimed at offering an overview of the best innovations in terms of LED lights mixed to design, the event hosted several amazing projects that redefine the idea of lighting.

If this product had to be defined in just one word, it would be “versatility”: only 0.3 cm thick, Cooledge SQUARE is an actual 30 square cm sheet, UL listed, which provides a uniform consistent lit effect thanks to its white LEDs. The first astonishing feature of this product is its capability to be personalized: being a sheet, it can be trimmed with scissors to fit the space it will be installed in. Handling this product has also no side effects, as it stays cool enough without the need of a heat sink. SQUARE is not just easy to cut but also very simple to install, as it takes a basic procedure with no specific training or knowledge, just like the installation of a light bulb or even a tile. Thanks to the combination of versatility and thinness , Cooledge SQUARE can fit low-profile architectural installation as shallow as 5 cm.
