Paris based American designer Phillip Euell creates minimalistic yet vintage pieces by combining American postwar tradition and European taste.  His Emergence collection features stools, one chair, one console table, a low table and two floor lamps. Simple objects enriched by Euell’s ideas and creativity, and particularly his use of fruit tree wood. By mixing minimalistic shapes reminding of postwar objects and European trends, Euell connects Charlotte Perriand’s avant-garde with George Nakashima’s Japanese architecture or Pierre Jeanneret’s whimsical style. This cultural mix results in the creation of new simple yet sophisticated objects which bring a new unusual touch to the interior.

A furniture collection characterized by wavy winding forms made of wood and neoprene such as the three-legged stool (entirely handmade in Paris) whose shape emphasizes the interaction between stiffness and softness. Euell’s pieces display a retro touch perfectly combined with many cultural influences. That’s why the designer’s collection has taken part in the MOST at the Museum of Science and Technology of Milan, the group exhibition by Tom Dixon dedicated to rule-breaking innovative designers.
