A collection aimed at turning marble solidity upside down: that’s Stratifications by Polish designer Krzysztof J. Lukasik, whose creations are inspired by everyday objects, to be reproduced in different ways. Born in 2013, Stratifications consists of five marble pieces: a bookmark, a mirror, a table, a chest of drawers and a tray all sharing an ultra light employment of the material.

Stratifications employs a specific procedure to laminate marble in order to make it look different and use any waste. Thanks to this innovation, marble objects are no longer heavy but feature new contemporary designs and forms created by putting together the waste material. This technique has been invented by artisan Marbrerie Gros-Dérudet. After being presented at the London Design Festival within Young Creative Poland: 4 Years, the “Marble Sandwiches” (as defined by Krzysztof J. Lukasik) are now on the market.
