Interior design projects always reflect the identity of the clients: by reflecting their needs and personality when it comes to residential, or by embodying the brand character when it comes to retail. Today’s project is a perfect example of the second case, as we take you to Madison Avenue, Manhattan, to discover the new Louis Leeman flagship store designed by London-based David Collins studio, which this year celebrates 30 years of business.
The 927 sq ft interior has been designed by world-renowned design firm David Collins Studio and takes its inspiration from 19th Century Parisian apartments and the canon of mid-20th Century design.

Designed as the drawing room of the reimagined Parisian apartment, a 19th Century fireplace in white onyx with oro veining sourced from Paris is central to the concept. The modern lounge seating, furniture and lighting designed by David Collins Studio have been realised in green and purple hues with gold metalwork. The shoe displays have been subtly integrated into the interior architecture of the store so as not to interrupt the residential feel of the concept. The reclaimed parquet de Versailles flooring originates from the 17th Century created with wood from the forests of the shores of the Bosphorus Straits. The panelling has been created in tones of pale grey. The walls have been finished in a hand applied linen texture cubist relief. To best reflect the brand’s refined personality, the boutique has been created in line with the ethos of the Louis Leeman brand featuring luxurious handmade elements, accented in gold.
