Cutting-edge technology, vintage design: this beautiful contrast goes by the name of Fuedi, the lamp by Apulian designer Mario D’Aquino. Inspired by the very first incandescent lamps, the project recalls the cult items that are part of modern history as well as rare antiques.
Fuedi: incandescent lamp turns LED
Apulian designer Mario D’Aquino creates vintage yet high-tech lighting solutions
To compensate for the lack of such original pieces, D’Aquino designed a contemporary reinterpretation of the incandescent lamp. «I wanted to reproduce the original size of the lamps but also add a touch of modern technology: inside you have a LED lamp that lights up the glass outline», says the designer.
Fuedi is made out of glass and black iron, or glass and white iron; it features a thin colorful thread that goes right into the ceiling. Despite the delicate size, Fuedi has a strong illumination capability, proving how progress, talent and history can mix together.
