Almost two weeks passed since the end of the third edition of Dubai Design Week and yet it is still a hot topic. Record numbers those recorded from what is known as one of the newest and most ambitious international design events in the world.
The event, which took place from the 13th to the 18th of November, staged over 200 events, celebrating design in a wide range of disciplines and bringing 60,000 visitors to the Dubai Design District, an impressive 50% increase from the last year and further establishing Dubai's position as a regional hub for design and creativity. Throughout Dubai, the designers showcased an innovative design, hosted conferences and workshops and welcomed visitors into all the creative process, also providing an exceptional educational opportunity for over 3,200 students from schools and universities across the UAE that participated in numerous educational tours organized throughout the design week.

The festival also focused on emerging talent thanks to the Global Grad Show, which with over 200 projects from 92 of the best universities, allows students and graduates from all over the world to present their innovative design solutions to improve our everyday life. This year was also inaugurated the Progress Prize, selected by a global jury and the winning design was awarded to graduates of the School of Form in Poland.
Many also the collaborations between organizations and independent designers who have contributed to the staging of an extraordinary caliber of creativity and innovation in all the different areas of the design world. This has not only boosted Dubai’s role as an arbiter of cutting-edge design, but also helped emerging regional designers, thinkers and design students bring forth their ideas to a much larger audience.
Also this year, Dubai Design Week has once again proved to be the leading event in the Middle East and we are already eager to find out what's going to hold for the upcoming edition. Stay tuned!
