The second edition of the Prague Design Week – the youngest design week in Europe - kicked off on Monday May 11st to liven up the Czech capital with the best of design and much more. This year’s edition will entertain visitors with all-embracing initiatives to make the public get an accurate impression of the current era’s means of expressions by both young and renowned professionals. Hosted in the heart of Prague, at Kafka’s House – right beside the Old Town square - the event highlights not just the most famous brands but also emerging designers – both local and international – such as students and graduates, putting under the spotlight not only the design field but also art, fashion, jewels and so on.

On the occasion of the design week, each of the 4 floors of the Kafka’s House has been filled up with the most unique design items by over 70 designers, groups and studios. Cinema also plays a big part thanks to the Design Cinema initiative which each day streams short films dedicated to local and international design production, interviews to the leading professionals of the field and also insights of the most captivating contemporary creations. Just like in 2014, this year’s Prague Design Week programme includes several talks and seminars by the most important local professionals, as well as night workshops by some of the 70 exhibitors, to closely witness their creations. With such a full schedule, the success of the 2015 Prague Design Week is guaranteed, especially looking at the figures of the very first edition of the event, joined by 6500 visitors. A unique occasion to fully understand and appreciate the original artistic and artisan value of Czech Republic.
