After a 2012 dedicated to Tangerine Tango – an intense tone of orange-red color – Pantone experts revealed the 2013 color: Emerald green. It brings “a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today's complex world”, explained Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Pantone, the American company founded in 1962 that provides the international standard set of colors for graphic as well, influences key sectors such as fashion and design thanks to the choice of the Color of the Year. But the so called color guide of architects, designers, interior designers with those standardized colors is becoming more and more renown in different areas of interest. Those who have an iPhone 4 or 4S certainly know Pantone Universe Scenario covers collection. Those who already have an iPhone 5 will be pleased to know that there are some covers for them, too: functional design with different colors ranging from black to gold ending with metallic shades. There are some interesting apps, too: myPantone has been realized for graphic designers and interior designers. Starting from a photo it shows us the shades closest to the captured color, it presents us all different combinations, similar and complementary. Moreover, you can share everything on social networks.

The Pantone Universe shifts from chairs to cosmetics, from glove boxes to lights, from accessories to fashion: pieces that turned into cult thanks to their brightness and aesthetic power. The series of multi-purpose metal boxes represent another great success: they were born from the partnership with the Italian company Seletti and they allow to make order generating at the same time happiness. An example could be the folding chairs in white metal structure with seat and back in pcv brilliant colors: light pieces suitable for the home and the office. With Seletti, Pantone has proposed Christmas gadgets such as glass balls for the trees, too. Please do not forget that for the Diamond Jubilee that is sixty years of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, Pantone and the London advertising agency Leo Burnett realized a limited edition color guide with the Queen’s clothes: each color is combined with a Pantone number and it shows the date and place in which she was wearing them. God save the Queen. But now go back and think of us. This 2013 is the year of emerald green. But, if we prefer, we can also call it green hope.
