235 square meters in the heart of Barcelona. AB Flat is an apartment located on the top floor of a lovely building in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district. Renovated, redesigned, brought to a new life by the work of Pablo Serrano and Blanca Elorduy, architect and interior designer at Dom Arquitectura.
The duo started by refurbishing the electric and water systems and reorganizing the space division, with less walls, doors and dividing elements. Rooms were merged together, like in the living area case, combined with the entrance, or the kitchen, merged with the office, to create two wider opens spaces.

The second step involved the subtle illumination, created with many subtle spot lights scattered vertically around the space. A parade of lamps, chandeliers, spotlights and design appliqués, from the Tolomeos in the living room to the Pleat Box set by Marset in the entrance or the pendant Stchu-Moon 02 by Catellani & Smith: everything contributes to make AB Flat a modern yet cozy place.
The lighting is emphasized by the warm colors of the wood flooring and furniture contrasting the white palette, as proved both on the inside and the outside of the project. The terrace in fact features the very same element, with wood flooring, white design items and custom iron flower boxes facing Barcelona’s skyline.
