Want to know how to decorate a 40sm apartment in a stylish yet low-cost way?
Spanish architects Briales & Sendín did it in Madrid: they decorated a 40sm apartment by using  mostly Ikea pieces of furniture. The minimalist interior is based on white, grey and green colors, which are soothing for the eyes and help perceiving a wider space.
The entrance and living room features the only glass wall of the apartment (which is the source of the amazing natural lighting) and white walls whose emptiness helps creating a sense of space. The furnishing of the room is by Ikea: on a green rug there’s a sofa-bed,the main element of the interior, along with a Manstad chaise-longue. On the other side we find a pouf, a coffee table and a TV unit. Green is the recurring element of the project: we find it on the kitchenette surface as well as the kitchen island which features two stools created by Briales & Sendin for Muebles Gami of Toledo.

The living and the sleeping areas are separated by a sliding door by Cristalleria Monreál: it is enhanced by a nature-themed silk-screen printing which catches the light coming from the big window to light up the room without sacrificing the privacy. The tiny bedroom features a huge sliding door wardrobe which is a strong point especially for those fashion victims like Carrie Bradshaw. The bathroom is made-to-order as well: the fixture is by Leroy Merlin whilst the washbasin cabinet is by Briales & Sendín for Carpintería Anjo. Crazy but true: the two architects have also designed a laundry room, which is framed between the shower rocky wall and the back of a cutting-edge washing machine, overlooked by glass shelves where to put towels and stuff. The main character of this project by Briales & Sendín is not the apartment itself but the art of saving: this interior solution represents indeed the best way to combine functionality, beauty and a low budget.
