The Middle East is ready to return to the international spotlight of design thanks to the imminent start of what is considered the biggest annual interior design exhibition: INDEX Dubai.
A four-day festival that will kick off on March 26th and will stage a hugely diverse and creative catalogue of furniture, furnishing and décor suppliers along with an extensive program of conferences and Talks Design sponsored by OFIS that will welcome many of the biggest names in architecture and design throughout the Middle East to discuss new trends and topics in the industry.
The show will also introduce a new section of the floor, Made in UAE, which will connect a wide collection of as-yet undiscovered craftspeople – glassblowers, upholsterers, furniture makers et al – with the region’s leading architecture and design minds.
INDEX will once again run alongside WORKSPACE Dubai and SURFACE Design (former Middle East Covering) dedicated respectively to the commercial furnishing and to the surface and coatings sector will be proposed again.

"Design for Expression" will be the theme of the whole event: clients and end users have more creative input than they have ever had when dealing with interior designers, product designers and contractors, no matter what the scale of the project.
With that, the pendulum of control has swung back to the people. The design mantra is more and more about incorporating the traits of the individual: their beliefs, their experiences, their ambitions. Never before have interiors, furniture and décor been considered such a direct reflection of those who own the space.
INDEX Dubai is a design event that truly caters to the needs of every single person working in the industry with the aim of going to build a creative platform that both inspires and connects people.
And it is precisely this will that led to the announcement of a second design showcase in September, just six months apart from each other, allowing exhibitors and visitors alike to enjoy INDEX alongside The Hotel Show Dubai (the pinnacle of the hospitality industry). September’s INDEX will cater more so to manufacturers, but will still be a must-visit for architects, interior designers, project managers and buyers.
