Our Studio has dealt with this extraordinary maintenance in an apartment in the center of a Tuscan village near Florence , and followed the Client, a young couple with two children, up to the design of furniture and accessories tailored passing for the supervision of works .
The problems of interventions located in such a context are always multiple why it is important to decide to hire a team of professionals and qualified technicians when you want to perform similar operations .
In fact it was redistributed around the first floor of the apartment moving the kitchen into the wider area radically transforming the environments here is that, without making substantial changes to walls, a traditional system leaves room for a conception of modern open space, almost as if we were in the post-industrial outskirts of a big city rather than in the center of a small town , all this with the utmost respect for the law and the conditions necessary for the psychological well-being of the inhabitants.
The style we chose for this project is , therefore, an industrial-style a bit shabby. Wood, steel and concrete are the three dominant elements of the furniture made entirely of our design. Drawings have been realized in fact, the large sliding door with track and etched iron pulleys (model " Barn " design Rachele Biancalani) which recalls the doors of the barns of the past. The brushed wood and dyed gray fits perfectly with the smoky frosted glass that lets in light but it does not affect the privacy of the rest area. The floor of the dining table was entirely covered by existing cement spatula and smoothed as well as the floor of the sink. One of the pearls that complements the design of the kitchen is undoubtedly the old table from the carpenter we dug specifically for this job and modified with extreme sensitivity to adapt it to support the hob. The fires with glass top will go perfectly in fact, with the elongated shape of the work table . Everything else, from the hood etched iron , wall units in wood with chicken wire , to the larder and the original sink cabinet were made on a project of our study . The corner fireplace in the apartment already had a look too traditional and has been restyling with a coat of paint and charcoal wall stickers ton-sur- ton .
The original sink cabinet that is inspired by traditional Tuscany dining tables in wood with turned legs ( "Table " designed by Rachel Biancalani ). The absence of tiles around the wet area of the kitchen is dictated by an aesthetic choice and solved using a functional enamel repellent of the same color as the wall combined with the top of the cement spatula .
The dominant color of master bedroom is blue in its various shades. This area of the apartment is characterized by a beautiful headboard reclaimed wood brushed and waxed so that it becomes fragrant and silky to the touch. The most obvious stains and imperfections due to wear have been deliberately left as witness of the past of the boards themselves. Although the arrangement of the tables may seem random turbulent required instead of a long decision-making prior to installation. The colors in shades of blue create a beautiful contrast with the color of iron rust etched who coordinate the furnishings , from the shelves "LAMA shelves" (design Rachele Biancalani) at the bedsides suspended always made by the architect.
The main bathroom at the first floor has a very special mood because it is inspired by the old cabins scoured the sea from the elements and the furniture under the sink was realized by modifying an old farm implement. The same applies to the lamp in old wooden recycled coming from the same tool.
The bathroom in the attic was renovated with a coat of anthracite in making wall and ceiling beams and rafters current and adapting to the mood of the apartment and with a new sliding door..
In the two bedrooms engaged in a play area at the other rest area , in contrast to what normally happens in the children bedrooms there are not many colors. White and gray pearl walls and ceilings with exposed beams and rafters , and only here and there are dotted with vibrant colors that brighten the rooms adding a touch almost Gustavian the attic. In these rooms some of the furnishings were purchased from scratch and the other , formerly owned by the Client , have been renewed with a few coat of polish non-toxic water as the two twins armoire painted pearl gray.
