The brief was for the creation of a new central Manchester office base which should provide a modern, contemporary, light environment in complete contrast to HSB's existing offices in Oldham. The open plan areas should maximise efficiency and allow the company to consolidate and restructure with minimum disruption. Emphasis was placed on the importance of personal space and storage.

A high quality reception area leads to a client suite of flexible meeting rooms with integrated technology allowing the client to link with other HSB offices around the world. A standard workstation footprint was used to provide maximum flexibility whilst a number of local meeting and quiet rooms have been included to support the open plan areas. A neutral palette provides the backdrop to bold corporate colours which provide interest and personalise the space.
