With its innovative design and a wide range of activities, Wuhan Ski Resort stands out as a unique destination in China’s entertainment landscape. Located in the Huangpi district near the historic town of Mulan, this complex is not just a haven for winter sports enthusiasts but also a year-round hub for leisure and retail.
Inspired by the excitement generated by the Beijing Winter Olympics, Wuhan Ski Resort blends snow sports, cultural events, and shopping into a single immersive experience. At its heart lies an indoor ski slope that is 500 meters long and 100 meters high, setting a milestone for indoor winter sports in China. However, its offerings extend far beyond sports: the resort also features ski schools, themed clubs, event spaces, and a theme park, all surrounded by a meticulously designed landscape.
Designed by CLOU Architects, Wuhan Ski Resort employs an innovative architectural language inspired by three-dimensional pixels. The modular façade, crafted to combine aesthetics and functionality, serves as a distinctive element that visually unites all components of the complex. This design choice creates a unique identity and synergy among the various areas, merging sports, shopping, and entertainment into a cohesive vision.

Wuhan Ski Resort is conceived as an urban living room where indoor and outdoor spaces blend seamlessly. The area around the central lake hosts plazas, shopping streets, and green spaces that stretch towards the water, creating a welcoming atmosphere for any time of the day. Thanks to meticulous planning, covered areas naturally open up to the outdoors, fostering a continuous dialogue between architecture and landscape.
Designed for continuous use, this complex offers activities and entertainment for all ages, 24 hours a day. During the day, families can enjoy shopping and sports activities, while in the evening, the resort comes alive with lights, events, and nightlife venues.
Spanning an area of 178,000 square meters, Wuhan Ski Resort is the result of collaboration between CLOU Architects and a network of international experts, including façade designers and landscape architects. Its realization represents a testament to excellence in contemporary architecture and design, prioritizing social value and positive impact on local communities.
Wuhan Ski Resort is not just a destination for winter sports but also a cultural and social hub. With its blend of innovation, design, and functionality, this project redefines the concept of outdoor entertainment, offering an unforgettable year-round experience.
