A 17th century manor farm, luxuriant hill surroundings and a unique Italian region: Puglia. These are the ingredients of the interesting challenging renovation which turned the old building into a luxury villa.

The project was by Alexander Waterworth Interiors, founded in 2011 by Alexander Evangelou and James Waterworth. The studio, which today features 12 international designers, offers its clients unique decoration solutions, mixing old and new, sophisticated and rough, to create warm homey spaces from large to small.

Built in 1689, the manor farm today features an almost unrecognizable interior. Thanks to the Alexander Waterworth Interiors intervention, the property offers eight en-suite bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a wine room, a bath overlooking the garden orangery and three kitchens. There’s also plenty of choice in terms of personal relax: two pools (one on the roof), a Hammam, and the amazing natural setting filled with orange and lemon trees and 60 acres of olive trees.

Despite the contemporary comforts, the property’s genuine old identity has been preserved by the project: French 19th century pieces of furniture enrich the decoration, as well as many antiques from all over Europe that perfectly match the modern design items thanks to Alexander Waterworth Interiors. Authentic elements represent the villa flagship: among them, vaulted original ceilings, cattle water troths, the 16th century bell, the fireplace, the original stones placed in the living room and much more.

A great example of how to make modernity and original identity coexist in the same place, just like the studio philosophy states. If you still need to be convinced to spend an unforgettable getaway in this amazing villa, here’s the ultimate news for you: the property is just 10 minutes away from the crystal clear sea of Puglia.
