Creativity and rationality, nature and an industrial look: that’s architect Luca Bassani’s work, combining opposites together like in Node Chair, the latest work of the designer, presented at the 2013 Fuorisalone. Fifth piece of his furniture collection, the chair displays Bassani’s strong artistic sense as well as his ability to put interaction and communication in each design.
The power of color in Luca Bassani’s work
Node chair by Luca Bassani, combining nature and industry.
Node Chair is an hybrid between a chair and an armchair: despite it is armless it still allows users to rest their arms thanks to its curved shape. The bond between nature and industry is highlighted by the combined use of both light cedar wood on the body and fluo varnish on the legs and on the wood nodes. This creates a perfect mix between industrial and craftsmanship productions. Nature is symbolized by wood whilst industry by color, creating a strong-design made of shadows and inspirations. With its triangular shape and only three legs, Node Chair also challenges the classic idea of steadiness. Luca Bassani’s design plays with reality, creating new dimensions by mixing opposites together in a very challenging way.
