One of contemporary design tasks is to investigate the relationship between a captivating appearance and the issue of energy saving by offering design objects that are both great looking and capable of avoid worthless waste. This interaction will be one of the focuses of LED – Lighting Experience Design, the event promoted by Assodel (Italian Association of Electronics Clusters) and LedLab (Solid State Lighting network), in collaboration with TID, which will liven up Milan’s Ventura Lambrate district from April 14 to 19 by exhibiting the latest news in terms of lighting and LEDs, to investigate the relationship between light and design.

The event will feature design objects representing a valuable example of how to employ artificial light in a smart sustainable way, with no compromises in terms of style. Among these design items you cannot miss Klube, by two exceptional designers such as Hugo van der Kallen, Red-Wood founder, and Erika Bergström, Resense Design founder. A unique partnership resulting in the combination of van der Kallen’s design artifact and Bergström’s environmental science technical and sustainable social progress awareness, which produced a design objects that is mainly made out of natural materials. The layout is in fact made of wood whilst the main part that allows the light to come out is Hugo’s translucent stone. These natural features are then enriched by tech sustainable characteristics, thanks to a complete eco monitoring system measuring and controlling the energy levels as well as waste and comfort parameters. This makes Klube a true jewel in terms of both design and energy saving: the item suits any environment from office to private interiors, and it will surely “feels at home” at LED – Lighting Experience Design.
