On the occasion of the 2013 Fuorisalone in Milan, Nuove Operazioni Editoriali (NOE) has hosted some creative projects such as Dancing Shape by architect Silvia Cassetta. This project is aimed at creating a washbasin combining the toughness of south-Italian stone with light winding forms dance-inspired. Dancing Shape is a washbasin for two, featuring a traditional material and an innovative shape. With its stony material molded into an unusual shape, this dynamic piece of design represents the fusion between furniture and sculpture. This washbasin has been designed for couples who need to share both the bathroom and the mirror, creating a new sense of family and a more lively home furnishing, allowing – in a creative way - two people to share every part of it.
Silvia Cassetta, when furniture becomes sculpture
Dancing Shape by Silvia Cassett: designed for 3d spaces.
Dancing Shape mixes tradition and culture with modern design, as proved by the its ceiling-mounted water nozzle as well as the employment of two leaning surfaces to divert water to the center. A perfect example of Cassetta’s philosophy, owner at kNOwarchitecture studio: “Architecture is a dream’s concreteness. Simplicity is successful only when elaborate, which does not mean complicated”.
