June 2 is going to be a big day for San Francisco: the first day of the new edition of San Francisco Design Week, celebrating ten years of business. Coordinated by local professional design organization AIGA San Francisco, the event will be on until June 9, for as many as 8 days featuring 200 events scattered all over the entire area of the city, from the Bay to Silicon
Valley, Oakland and Marin. The motto of the tenth edition of SFDW will be “There’s Just Something About the Bay”, with the aim of investigating the unique role of global design hub performed by the location. Over the years, the Bay has been the centre for innovation, the place where life-changing creations and services come to light.

The design week will feature many on-topic talks, workshops, screenings and so on hosted by world-renowned designers, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and design enthusiasts, to discover which secret ingredient makes the tiny Bay such a big design paradise. The festival’s program will feature a comprehensive offer, including the furniture and lamp exhibit by emerging designers, the rare poster exhibition by private collectors, and even many billboards posted throughout the city - presented by the Municipality of Milan, The Italian Cultural Institute, San Francisco Design Week and the California College of the Arts. With such a multi-faceted rich program, that concerns each side of design as well as other contemporary disciplines such as social media, the San Francisco Design Week is ready to prove itself as the most exciting festival of the country.
