The second edition of Maison&Objet ASIA, held at al Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre , closed its doors on March 12th. The 2015 event was a much bigger show than last year, still focused on the best from the home decoration and interior design fields, both for residential and commercial purposes. The event featured on-topic actions such as the launch of the free app to be downloaded by visitors in order to learn anything about the show’s rich program.

Livened up by the very same spirits that has been characterizing Maison&Objet Paris for 20 years, the second Asian edition gathered the most influential professionals of the field, turning Singapore into the stage for the hottest design as well as for new emerging ideas, as proved by the Designer of the Year award – with which the edition kicked off – won by Shanghai’s Neri&Hu Design and Research Office. To emphasize the ever-growing quality of Asian design, the show also featured the Rising Asian Talents 2015, a selection of emerging professionals working in many different fields such as furniture, home decoration, interior design and jewelry, who represented their home countries with their talent.

As always, Maison&Objet proved to be both a business event – where to buy products and draw up collaborations – and a educational happening, thanks to the many seminars and workshops that took place to deepen the hottest topics about design. Beside the exhibition space, design took over the whole city during the Design Week (ending on March 22) which has been arranged to celebrate 50 years of design in Singapore with forums, events, exhibitions and much more.

Maison&Objet
will be back in two months: the next stop is Miami, United States, from May 12 to 15.
