She’s one of the artists hosted in our special showroom, as you’ve probably already seen in this interview where we introduced her fascinating work as well as her work nOlita. Let’s find out more about the eclectic mind behind such unexpected refined pieces caught in between art and design.

Born in Geneve in 1968, Ingrid Sol Leccia has always been creating: art is the tool with which she’s expressed her inner world since the very beginning. Painting was the first artistic language she employed, which led her to get close to sculpture thanks to the encounter, in 2006, with sculptor René Broissand, a huge fan of her paintings. By spending much time at his studio, Ingrid Sol Leccia slowly became familiar with metal – her currently most used material - and forging, until sculpture became her new way of expression.

To Leccia, creating is not a mechanical forced act but something natural that spontaneously turns an idea into an actual work, just like magic. Creating new art pieces is like delivering a baby to her, that’s why she feels joyful as well as sometimes physically exhausted when a new work – especially a big one - gets completed. The artist employs her creations to inject love and emotions into the world, as this in her opinion is one of the main and most noble aims of art. Leccia’s art can’t really go unnoticed, in fact her latest work nOlita – exhibited at our TID showroom – will be featured in the next Paris Design Week – scheduled from September 5 to 12 – within the Cité de la Mode et du Design. An additional reason not to miss the upcoming French festival!
