House for mother is a work in progress with construction starting in August 2014 and belonging to the Linköpingsbo 2017 housing exhibition, named after the Swedish town that hosts the building. The work, by Malmö-based Förstberg Arkitektur och Formgivning architecture studio, presents a spatial division consistent with the overall theme for the area in general, that is narrow plots as well as a variation of housing types of which this property is an example. House for mother is divided into two parallel volumes slightly shifted from each other, thus creating spaces both in front of and behind the building which are oriented to the park in the north and the alley in the south.

The first volume is fully dedicated to the public spaces: it contains the kitchen, dining room and living room, but also the bathroom and laundry room which are housed in a smaller cabin within the structure. The second volume, partly in two levels with a less inclined roof, is dedicated to the private spaces of the future owners, featuring the bedrooms and a small studio.
Another feature of the project is the material on the outside: facades and roof are in fact covered with raw, corrugated aluminum whose bright color recurs on the inside too. The interior is warm and characterized by neutral hues, with an exposed timber structure and walls lined with plywood. The floor, made out of polished concrete, also folds up along the perimeter of the building and transforms into a bench and shelf.
