On the occasion of the past design week, Milan hosted the latest creations by Lee Broom: the interior design brand employed a disused store located at Via Alfredo Cappellini to make its Department Store. The pieces of furniture, lamps and design items on display explained Broom’s new collection as well as the overall artistic path of the designer. Caught in between tech innovation and tradition, the pieces exhibited at the Department Store were characterized by a dramatic staging – one of Broom’s distinctive features - aimed at building a unique space that merged form, modernity and emotion.

This is the widest collection by Lee Broom, where the designer found himself exploring for the first time new elements such as new materials, bright vivid colors, past techniques and future forms, creating a captivating unique mix. The Department Store embodied a journey throughout both a two storey space and the actual mind of Lee Broom, enhanced by many opposite details like unusual silhouettes, abstract shapes, natural colors and many materials including wood and marble. The design item that certainly drew everybody’s attention was the Hanging Hoop Chair, made out of two brass plated steel rings forming the layout and base of the vivid red seat and seatback. Hanging Hoop combines a minimalist geometric style to a dramatic majestic effect: the design takes violently over a whole space by becoming its main focus. On sale since last September, Hanging Hoop Chair is available in two variations – brass and black – from 3.440 Euros. A moving piece for exclusive design lovers.
