Sunday June 19 was the last day of the seventh edition of Florence Design Week, the international lifestyle festival that has been turning Florence into Italy's most creative city since 2010. For the first time, this edition occurred during Pitti Immagine, the must-attend event that each year drags thousands of people to the city to enjoy many social and fashionable events. The 2016 edition of Florence Design Week featured a theme called Design United, a comprehensive investigation on the collective side of design, art, craftsmanship and creativity that led to the outline of a ever-growing contemporary pop culture.

The festival also addressed the most engaging cities that rely on design to integrate people from different cultures, as well as designers whose work is strongly eco-friendly. One of the key features of Florence Design Week was certainly the refined historical locations of its events, like the Complesso delle Murate and Palazzo Borghese: past, present and feature met in such amazing artistic places to enhance the importance of art expression. As always, the festival also represented a professional platform dedicated to new enterprises and big brands, with many business meetings, on topic events and of course networking occasions. Young talents were another focus of Florence Design Week, thanks to the collaboration with the leading players of the sector as well as design institutions and designers from emerging countries. Overall, the festival proved once again to be a unique event that nurtures the creative side of Florence, including its galleries and private studios thanks to the OFF!! initiative.
