He was born in 1988, yet his talent looks older than 25: Leonardo Talarico stands out in the current design scene as one of the 15 more talented under-35 designers, according to Interni magazine. He collaborated with well-known names such as Cappellini, Mercedes Benz, Ceramica Flamina and Alcantara, plus he has been producing his own collection mixing creativity and usability.
The recent cooperation with Henry Timi gave birth to LT21: a sofa-sculpture featuring clean lines, combining a wide comfortable seat and an usual small table to guarantee relax by working on the concept of suspension.
On the occasion of the latest Design week, the designer presented Tofu, a prototype displayed within FoodMade group exhibit at Italy’s pavilion in Ventura Lambrate. Tofu is an armchair made of tofu itself, which has been dehydrated and tranformed into furniture raw material. A successful project that perfectly matched the food-theme of the group exhibit.

He also presented Rod, designed for Cappellini and inspired by windmill blades: the upper part looks thin whilst the lower part is thicker, creating a play of proportions. Finally the designer brought to Milan two limited edition items: Voir – Dimensione Danza centrepieceand Reel – Dimensione Danza candle-holder, both inspired to ballet and lightness. Thanks to his creativity, Talarico has gained some popularity: the young artist has been working for several years already, infact in 2008 he collaborated in the production of “Magic Forest” in Stockholm, and in 2009 he participated in the “Temporary Museum for New Design”.
