One of the most peculiar area of the city is located south of Navigli river in Milan. A no longer used industrial area of 25.000 sq.m. has been transformed in research establishment with fashion and design atelier alternating with art and architecture studios. In this context four friends – a designer, a photographer and two directors – have bought some offices on the first floor of the building facing the street. Once they have divided the whole volume they have obtained four equal areas, 100 sq.m. each. This is the starting point of the entire work of the famous architecture Roberto Murgia.

What are customers requests? “A working place that may be considered home as well, a meeting space private and charming, a public space that is also extremely quiet and exclusive”, says the architect. After some meetings whose aim was to evaluate all different proposals, some other friends, lighting designers, artists, architects, directors of photography and costumiers joined the debate. The final result has been the definition of four different lofts in terms of  ideas, colours, aspect and materials. Each one shows its own character.
The sharing aspect of all projects – besides the huge spaces and big windows that capture daylight – is the choice of a particular lifestyle merging together private life and work. The architect Roberto Murgia has strongly worked in collaboration with Studio Fase and Carmine Concas to realize the above  mentioned project. Living in an old store or factory, as happened during the 50’ s in New York in the district of Soho, is no more a prerogative of the artists: the loft philosophy is incorporating an increasing way of living. That is absolutely creative.
