In Tarriga, a town located between Lérida and Barcelona, architect Guim Costa’s studio projected the renovation of part of an industrial building formerly hosting a firm. The project was commissioned by the designer Oriol Vidal.

Tarriga used to be the headquarter of agricultural machinery manufacturers, whose buildings were located right in the city center until 1930’s.  Casa OV project has taken place in one of those central buildings.

The apartment has been designed by Vidal and Costa Calsamiglia Arquitecte’s founder, who wanted to preserve the original framework of the building as well as its industrial feel by adding more lighting and ventilation through a brand new inner patio. In this effort the original beams and stonework have been kept untouched, but on the other hand an inner yard has been created to bring natural light and fresh air in. The interior embraces a minimalistic style, with neat essential lines and just a few colors which appear on the patterned sofa combined  to the wood furniture and a varnished kitchen. The bedroom is the most comfortable and luxurious area of the apartment, characterized by an adjacent spacious bathroom with only a smoked glass separating the two areas.
