The curtain on the seventh edition of Bratislava Design Week closed on Sunday: staged in the very heart of Slovakia, the event has been representing the nation’s most important design event since 2009, thanks to its accurate strict organization and selection. Started on June 8th, the festival served as the showcase of the very best national production: the most innovative local brands, producers, retailers and designers – together with international names and projects – joined the main exhibition to prove the creativity of Slovakia and especially Bratislava, as the city was energized for 7 days in a row by happenings, forums and on topic events.

Each year the festival turns the capital into the stage for many unmissable events such as modern and captivating previews or new projects and partnerships, as it collaborates with the main design weeks of the region, first of all Prague’s and Vienna’s. In this way, Bratislava Design Week is actually a happening with unlimited potential in terms of public, sponsors and partners, especially as it goes beyond the boundaries of design by reaching out to other subjects such as fashion, music, art and films. Thanks to this fresh comprehensive approach, Bratislava Design Week brings design right into the city’s everyday life, giving the capital a new allure and making normal people get close to a subject that actually affect us all. This is also why the festival – unlike other design events which mainly target professionals – is really something for everyone, no matter their age and job: the program in fact featured a range of different ingredients suitable any kind of person, including families and children.
