Art pieces from the very past serve as a reminder of ancient people’s techniques, beliefs and perception. The very same purpose is fulfilled by today’s design items, as they represent the current technology, taste and functionality. Technology is indeed bonded to the design field, since contemporary processes – such as 3d printing – create new ways to produce innovative pieces. What happens when contemporary design meets the art from the past? The result is today’s project, designed by Nextmade. Founded by NextMaterials, Daniela Canoro and Designamente, the brand searches for innovative ways to create green multi-functional design pieces.

One of the most iconic materials of contemporary design, undulated cardboard, is the key element chosen by the company to reproduce the most iconic statues of men’s art history. Thanks to its strong tridimensional properties, undulated cardboard allows the reproduction of big sized items, giving them a new modern appearance. 3dMaxi statue collection by Nextmade started in 2013 with the reproduction of the Venus the Milo and a Terracotta Warrior; today, the range features two more members, Michelangelo’s David and Ercole Farnese. Unique yet affordable, as well as created through a thorough study in terms of material and technology, the statues take the industrial product concept to a new level. Moreover, they offer a decorative touch that makes any space very exclusive. If you wish to see 3dMaxi with your own eyes, you can pop up at our TID showroom, located in Milan’s Baranzate district.
