The first fair on design of 2015 closed its doors on Saturday. The year couldn’t start better thanks to the impeccable organization of IMM COLOGNE, the event that turned the German city of Köln into the core of tomorrow’s best interior design, where to witness the latest innovations of the field.

Started on January 18th, the fair – lasting 7 days – was the stage for over 100,000 pieces of furniture and design items, one third of which was completely new. During the 66th edition of the event, the exhibition space gathered more than 1300 international brands from over 50 different countries, creating a range of styles including both renowned contemporary design and more visionary ideas, consistently with the concept of the Fair which aims at offering a multi-faceted overview of the design field. The figures of the exhibitors were not the only amazing ones: in fact, this year the number of international visitors from all over the world was about 150,000.

Among the top events of the Fair, the young LivingKitchen, an international show completely dedicated to the most important room of an house, the kitchen. The event - joined by 142,000 visitors last year - attracted in Köln the most famous names of the kitchen furniture industry: over 200 international brands from 22 different countries introduced their latest products. Keyword: innovation.

Just like any quality design-fair, IMM COLOGNE livened up the entire city of Köln with cultural happenings which also involved emerging designers and promising students willing to leave their mark on the international stage of this challenging topic. The Design Week of Köln took over colleges and museums, creating a unique path merging design and social life.
