The challenge was to renovate a 380 square meters traditional ranch located in the green town of Livermore, California: MacCracken Architects studio accomplished it by keeping a warm interior despite its new contemporary feel. The ranch from 1950 presented a too closed structure without any view of the surrounding hills: the problem has been solved by placing all the bedroom windows toward the exterior of the property, to create a more pleasant atmosphere on the inside.

A stunning renovation in Livermore, California
The U-shaped structure features a porch and a pool on the front. The property is completely made out of wood, divided into five spaces with big windows and sliding doors which are employed to create a continuity with the surrounding nature. The decoration is mainly about wood, with steel details, white walls and a modern bathroom to ensure a more contemporary feel to this former over-traditional ranch.
