The design lamp field represents an ever-evolving sector where technique, technology and creativity get merged together. Beside well-known designers and brands, the most captivating new products are often produced by young talents thanks to their enthusiasm. That is why LED – Lighting Experience Design, the 2015 Fuorisalone event showcasing the latest news from the lighting field, will also pay attention to emerging design by presenting Clac, by Stefano Zanaboni. The lamp will be in fact one of the highlights of the event promoted by Assodel (Italian Association of Electronics Clusters) and LedLab (Solid State Lighting network) in collaboration with TID, which will be hosted within Milan’s Ventura Lambrate district on the occasion of the design week.

Clac is the first product branded LED DOVE, a project that aims to develop and enhance design solutions with technologies LED/SSL and promote emerging talent.

Clac is the outcome of the designer’s thesis at Milan’s NABA University, embodying his technique and aesthetic ideals. Essential and elegant, Clac works at low voltage, making electricity pass through a pair of metal plates (one for each pole) and close the electrical circuit with a pair of neodymium magnets. The neodymium clasps the metal plates and also exploits the 30% iron present in them to conduct the electricity needed to light up the whole design product. Beside low voltage, Clac features another crucial characteristic that is versatility: it offers two light sources, the first is warm and perfect to illuminate the surrounding space, the second is a "natural white" dedicated to a working area on a desk. By combining technique, creativity and beauty, this design item will turn LED – Lighting Experience Design into the stage for future lighting.
