Its name says it all: the desk of Agrafe collection, which means “staple” in French, is in fact characterized by a unique feature, two bent metal tubes forming the legs of the piece of furniture and recalling the shape of a staple. Its creator, Mickael Dejean, was selected with other 10 young designers - among 61 candidates – to compete for the Rado Star Prize 2014, the award of Paris Design Week. Chaired by Philippe Nigro, the jury gave the prize to Dejean’s Agrafe.

The designer’s originality and creativity were crucial to this success. Thanks to its essentiality, Agrafe – which is made of only three components – is an intuitive practical piece of furniture: on the one hand, its unique legs make the top stand still; on the other, the cuts on the wooden top allow any cable (tv, phone, laptop cable and so on) to “disappear” down to the side of the desk, without getting in the way of the user’s legs.
Launched last year on the occasion of the collective exhibit “Bois et Noir vs Bois et Blanc” hosted at Carrousel du Louvre during the 2013 Design Week, Mickael Dejean confirmed his emerging talent with this award: we’re eager to find out what he will bring to the next Design Week in 2015.
